Captain Andy Foan - Head of Training/Managing Director
Founding director of Skyblue Aero Services, Andy learnt to fly in 1980 and worked as freelance Training Captain for many years flying Shorts 360 and Bandeirante aircraft before joining CityFlyer Express where he was TRE/IRE simulator and aircraft on the ATR 42 and 72. Andy is also qualified on the Boeing 737. He retains a keen interest in classic and vintage aviation and is qualified by the UK CAA as a display pilot on the Hawker Hunter and Beech 18/C45 Expeditor aircraft.
Lesley Williams - Operations Director
Lesley is joint founding director of Skyblue Aero Services. Prior to her career in aviation she worked in financial administration and customer services, mostly for large insurance companies. She is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administration of the company including course scheduling and trainee welfare.
Captain John ’Stack’ Butterley - Deputy Head of Training
Captain John Butterley, universally known as ‘Stack’ joined the RAF after leaving school where he flew the Jet Provost, Vampire and Shackleton. He left the RAF as an A2 QFI and joined BEA flying Viscounts, Vanguards and Tridents. Following the merger of BEA and BOAC he flew the Boeing 747 before joining the Concorde fleet where he logged some 4000 hours. After retirement from BA he joined CityFlyer Express where he flew both the ATR and RJ100.
Synthetic Flight Training Instructors and Examiners
All synthetic flight training instructors are former UK airline Training Captains. Many have held senior management positions within major airlines, in addition to their extensive training experience on the ATR series aircraft.
